GRACE and the Earth's Crust

An enhanced understanding of both the interior and surface structure of the Earth will be provided when the average measurements of the gravity field over land is calculated. The Earth's interior has the largest impact on its gravity. Rocks, minerals, and various soil types near the Earth's crust provide the finer scale features in the Earth's gravity field.
