OVERVIEW

The GRACE Science Team meeting is arranged in three sessions. The Project Status session consists of briefings on the mission status, and includes future science plans, the flight segment technical status, and status and information on the re-processing activities underway within the GRACE Science Data System.

Abstracts are solicited from the attendees for presentations in the two sessions: Geodesy & Processing Techniques; and Geophysics & Climate Science ((later to be sub-divided into Hydrology, Oceanography, Glaciology, etc). Sessions will include both oral and poster presentations. Authors may submit more than one abstract. Very soon after the submission deadline, you will be sent an email confirming your presentation, and the Meeting Program will become available.

During the abstract submission process

• All information must be entered before hitting the SUBMIT button - you cannot save information and return later to complete the submission.
• Mandatory information includes the author(s) list, presenter's name, paper title, abstract and presenter's email address. The submission may not include any special characters or symbols.
• You may request oral or poster presentation. Every effort will be made to accommodate the request, but the program committee reserves the right to alter it to suit the program.

Optionally, the GRACE Principal Investigators are asked to submit their investigation title, and some text on the present status and future plans. You may choose to rewrite you presentation abstract if it fits the purpose. Please use the "For PI Submissions" button at the bottom of this page.

Optionally, if you have special requirements or suggestions for new data product definition, or on product accuracy, resolution or latency, we invite you to upload a 2-page (maximum) summary as a text or PDF file (preferred). You can use the Upload Special Request button, located at the foot of this page.

SESSION DESCRIPTIONS

Geodesy & Processing Techniques

Abstracts are solicited on improved, new or innovative methods of processing GRACE science data. Topics may include, among others, assessments of flight data or instrument quality; new methods or algorithms for Level-1 or Level-2 data processing; inter-comparisons of GRACE data products with SLR or other independent estimates; methods and results from regional data processing approaches; methods for filtering or noise reduction in Level-1 and Level-2 data products; and other related topics.

Posters will be put up on the first day. Presenters are expected to be available at their posters during a dedicated 1-hour poster viewing session before lunch. Posters will remain available for viewing through the day, including coffee and lunch breaks.

Geophysics & Climate Science Applications

Abstracts are solicited on the application of static as well as time-variable Level-2 data products to Solid Earth, Hydrology, Oceanography, Glaciology and related sciences. Topics may include (among others) geophysical inference from GRACE products; combinations with other mission data products from, for example, Topex/Poseidon, Jason-1, ICESat; product validation or integration with in-situ or geophysical model data; comparisons with or future plans for ground campaign data; potential synergies with future missions such as GOCE, Cryosat, SMOS, and others; science applications and rationale for extended mission datasets; and related subjects.

Posters will be put up on the second day, and presenters should expect to be available in the afternoon (after 15:30) at their posters. Additional viewing time will include coffee and lunch breaks.

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

Oral Presentations

A maximum of 15 minutes, including time for questions, is allowed. Overhead (transparency) and screen (beamer) projection will be available. Your presentation must be uploaded by the last meeting break before your scheduled talk. Presenters will not be allowed to connect their own laptops or their flash drives during their talks.

Poster Presentations

Posters may be a maximum of 60 inches wide and 40 inches tall. Supplies for mounting posters to boards will be available.
